Ringerike is a growing municipality - which is also investing in digital development when it uses Interaxo in its construction projects.

This has so far proven to be a valuable investment, provided that the tool is used correctly. Here is their advice for others who want to take the step towards a smarter everyday project life.

Since 2015, Ringerike Municipality in Viken, with just over 30,000 inhabitants, has built buildings and infrastructure worth around NOK 2.5 billion - a major investment for a relatively small municipality. Among the projects that are now ready, or being completed, are two large school projects, a care center, care homes, emergency services, a new ambulance center and a large amount of infrastructure.

For several of these projects, the municipality has used Interaxo as a collaboration tool. Trond Skogdal, project manager for development, is left with clear thoughts about the benefits this has provided, but also what it is important to consider in order to achieve the best results with new, digital working methods.

Set aside enough time for advice and new routines

"What's great about Interaxo is all the opportunities it opens up in terms of communication," says Trond Skogdal.

"File sharing, joint regulation of documents and, in particular, change management mean that we have had a much clearer and tidier process than before," he continues before pointing out,

"But it's important to get off to a good start if you want to get maximum benefit."

Skogdal says that they have received a good introduction to Interaxo from Tribia's consulting department, but also how important it is to agree internally on how the system will be used before getting started.

"All projects are different, with different conditions and needs. For us, this is the first time we've actively used such a tool, and now we've created a system and routines that we think have worked well and that we'll continue to use. My advice is definitely to spend some time on this in the beginning."

Tribia's Head of Consulting, Nicolai Loennecken, emphasizes Trond Skogdal's experiences.

"We see that customers who take the time to get off to a good start get the most out of using Interaxo. A good dialog about the project's needs, and the prerequisites of those involved in the use of this type of tool, also makes it easier for us to tailor a good introduction adapted to the project's goals - this is a recipe for success we see recurring with us."

FDV collection completed before takeover

After getting started with Interaxo, Skogdal and Ringerike Municipality see the real benefits that Interaxo can bring to a construction project when fully utilized.

"We are in the process of completing a major care home project, where we have collected almost 95% of the documentation before handover. This is probably the first time we've experienced something like this," says Skogdal, adding that this is not an everyday occurrence.

"Obviously, we're pleased with such a result. Previously, for various reasons, we haven't been able to get started as quickly with this collection. This shows that if you can take the time to get off to a good start, you'll feel very comfortable later on," he concludes.
